The ritual

Smooth, regenerated skin — and you can see it happening.

Turkish bathing is a ritual practised for centuries to cleanse body and soul. Its centrepiece is a silk-cloth mitt that lifts away dead skin in visible rolls, leaving skin renewed underneath.

Our founder, Tami Blake, travelled to Istanbul to source these exfoliators from a woman-owned workshop. This is the complete set: the body mitt for arms, legs and chest, a long back scrubber for the part you cannot reach, and a finer face mitt.

What you'll notice

  • Softer skin from the first use
  • Fewer ingrown hairs and bumps
  • Body products absorb noticeably better
  • A weekly ritual that feels like a treatment

How to use

The one rule: step away from the water.

Cleanse first, exfoliate on damp skin out of the stream, then rinse. Ten minutes, once or twice a week.

Complete Body Exfoliation Set
  1. Before you startWash it once

Hand-wash the mitt with a mild soap and warm water, squeeze and hang dry before first use.

  2. Step oneCleanse first

Wash your body as usual. The mitt is not a washcloth — never put soap or product on it.

  3. Step twoStep away from the water

Dampen the mitt, then move out of the stream. Light to medium pressure, circular motions, over body or bikini area.

  4. Step threeWatch it work

Keep going until the dead skin visibly lifts on the skin and the mitt. It is oddly satisfying.

  5. Step fourRinse

Rinse your body, then rinse the mitt with warm water and hang it to dry.

After

Freshly exfoliated skin absorbs beautifully. Follow with Body Prophet or Body Worker while skin is still damp.

Questions

Good to know

How often should I exfoliate?

Once or twice a week. Skin that is new to it can start with once.

Is it too harsh for sensitive skin?

No — the viscose silk is gentle, and you control the pressure. Start light and let skin acclimatise over a few sessions.

Why step away from the water?

Wet skin under running water will not release dead cells. Damp skin, out of the stream, is what lets the mitt do its job — and lets you see it happen.

Can I use it on my face?

The face mitt, yes — it is finer than the body mitt. Keep the body mitt and back scrubber below the neck.

How do I care for it?

Rinse after each use and hang dry. Hand-wash with a gentle detergent when needed. Skip the washing machine and dryer.

How long does a mitt last?

Replace every four to six months with weekly use.

Afterwards

What to use it with
